Street Fighter 2026

Summary:

Street Fighter (2026) is an action martial arts film based on Capcom’s legendary video game series, directed by Kitao Sakurai. Set in 1993, it follows two estranged fighters whose old brotherhood is tested when a criminal syndicate draws the world’s greatest warriors into a spectacular tournament that hides a far more dangerous game.

Andrew Koji plays Ryu, a disciplined wandering martial artist devoted to his training and his code, while Noah Centineo plays Ken Masters, his wealthy, charismatic American rival and former training partner. The two men have not spoken in years when the mysterious Interpol agent Chun-Li, played by Callina Liang, recruits them both for the World Warrior Tournament, a brutal contest gathering the finest and most dangerous fighters from every corner of the globe. Each arrives with something to prove, and neither expects to need the other again.

But the tournament is only a front. Behind it stands Shadaloo, a shadowy criminal empire led by the ruthless M. Bison, played by David Dastmalchian, who intends to harness the fighters’ extraordinary power for his own ambitions. As Ryu and Ken battle their way through legendary opponents — including Jason Momoa’s feral Blanka and Vidyut Jammwal’s serene, stretch-limbed Dhalsim — old wounds reopen, pride clashes with duty, and the brothers-in-arms are forced to confront the demons of their shared past.

Packed with faithfully recreated special moves, famous arenas and colourful costumes, Street Fighter is a high-energy love letter to the arcade classic that defined a generation of gamers. Yet beneath the fireballs, flying kicks and larger-than-life rivalries, it is really a story of brotherhood and redemption, as two proud fighters discover that the only way to defeat the darkness ahead is to stand side by side once more.
