Toy Story 5 (2026) brings Pixar’s beloved gang back for a very modern battle: toys versus tech. Cowgirl Jessie now leads Bonnie’s toys, with Buzz Lightyear proudly serving as her devoted deputy, while Sheriff Woody has long since ridden off to help lost toys find children of their own. Life in Bonnie’s bedroom is sweet and settled, the toys loved and played with every day — until a glowing new screen steals the spotlight.

Bonnie, now eight years old, is a shy, gentle girl who finds it hard to make friends in a world where the other children spend all their time glued to games and group chats. Hoping a device will help their daughter connect, her parents buy her a cheerful, frog-themed talking tablet called Lilypad, and Bonnie is instantly hooked. Endless entertainment sits in her hands all day, while Jessie, Buzz and the rest of the gang slowly gather dust and begin to fear that the era of the toy really is over.

Unwilling to be abandoned by another kid, Jessie sets out on a mission to find Bonnie a real, flesh-and-blood friend who still loves imaginative play. The adventure carries her far from home, brings Woody riding back to help his old friends, and teams the toys with a quirky crew of battery-powered gadgets, including the wisecracking potty-training toy Smarty Pants. Together they must show Bonnie what no app can offer: loyalty, imagination and a friend who is actually there.

Warm, funny and surprisingly timely, Toy Story 5 asks what childhood becomes when screens compete with toys for a child’s heart. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack slip effortlessly back into their iconic roles, and Pixar finds fresh feeling in the franchise’s oldest question — what happens to the toys when playtime itself changes forever? It is a reunion packed with laughs, heart and high adventure for the whole family.
