The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026) launches Nintendo’s heroes into outer space in Illumination’s animated sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Mario and Luigi are happily settled in as the Mushroom Kingdom’s favourite plumbers, Princess Peach keeps her people safe, and even the mighty Bowser sits shrunken, sulking and safely locked away. Far across the cosmos, gentle Princess Rosalina watches over her playful star children, the Lumas, aboard the drifting Comet Observatory. One night the observatory is attacked by Bowser Jr., who arrives in a gigantic mechanical war machine and abducts Rosalina, hoping to harness her immense cosmic power, restore his father’s name and build a galaxy of his own to rule. Only one small Luma escapes the attack, carrying a desperate plea for help all the way to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Mario, Luigi and Peach rocket into space on a rescue mission, joined by loyal Toad and an irresistible new ally, the cheerful dinosaur Yoshi. Their journey hops across candy-coloured planets, honey-filled hives and gravity-bending galaxies, dodging classic enemies, collecting power-ups and racing comet showers. Even the pint-sized Bowser gets swept along for the ride, torn between his old villainous habits and a family feud that is quickly spiralling out of his control.

Colourful, frantic and stuffed with loving references to the games, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a joyful cosmic ride for families and Nintendo fans alike. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day and Jack Black return with energy to spare, while the star-hopping setting lets the animation truly soar.
