Cindy Campbell is back, and so is Brenda Meeks, which means no horror movie is safe anymore. Years after their last misadventure, the friends are pulled into a new wave of terrifying events that look suspiciously like every hit horror film of recent years. Possessions, creepy dolls, haunted houses and masked killers all arrive at once, and only Cindy and Brenda can survive them badly.

Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans return to the franchise they helped create, bringing back its fearless, anything-goes spoof energy. Anna Faris and Regina Hall slip effortlessly into their iconic roles, reacting to genuine scares with total absurdity. The film gleefully parodies modern favourites, viral horror trends and serious prestige thrillers, turning familiar frightening scenes into outrageous physical comedy and sharp, self-aware jokes. Nothing is too sacred to mock, from solemn exorcisms to award-bait serial killer dramas and found-footage sensations.

No trope is spared, from final girls and jump scares to overly serious trailers and endless sequels. A mysterious threat stalks the group while celebrity cameos, fake-out deaths and ridiculous investigations pile up around them. Beneath the chaos, there is real affection for the horror genre, because the best parody always understands exactly what it is making fun of. The friends bicker, panic and blunder through each set piece, somehow surviving through luck, loyalty and spectacularly bad decision making.

Scary Movie is a loud, shameless and long-awaited return for one of comedy’s most successful spoof series. It invites longtime fans and new viewers alike to laugh at the films they love to fear. Expect broken rules, broken furniture and plenty of screaming, because Cindy and Brenda never, ever learn to just leave the haunted house immediately.
