Karuppu (2026) is a Tamil fantasy action drama directed by RJ Balaji, built on a striking idea — what happens when God himself steps down to fix a broken system of justice? In the film’s world, the courts that should protect the common man have been hijacked by corrupt lawyers, brokers and middlemen who exploit the poor and drag their cases out for money. For the powerless, justice has become a luxury they simply cannot afford.

When the suffering of the innocent crosses every limit, Karuppusamy, the fierce village guardian deity of justice, descends to earth. He takes human form as Saravanan, a lawyer played by Suriya, and begins fighting the very cases the system has abandoned — standing up for cheated farmers, helpless families and victims with no voice, and turning staid courtrooms into arenas of divine reckoning.

Arrayed against him are the powers that profit from injustice, led by a loud, greedy advocate played by RJ Balaji himself, while Trisha Krishnan plays Preethi, a lawyer drawn to Saravanan’s fearless crusade. Indrans lends deep emotion as a struggling father whose pain exposes the human cost of a corrupt system. As the battle moves between the courtroom and the streets, the film mixes folklore, faith and fiery confrontations.

Karuppu blends mythology with a sharp social message, asking whether justice should be a privilege of the rich or the right of every person. With Suriya shifting between divine fury and human warmth, grand mass moments and an emotional core rooted in village faith, it is a commercial entertainer with something to say — a story where the god of justice does not wait for prayers, but walks into court and demands answers.
