Toxic 2026

Summary:

Toxic (2026), subtitled A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, is a Kannada period action thriller directed by Geetu Mohandas that marks the much-awaited return of Yash after the KGF phenomenon. Set in the smoky, sun-drenched underworld of Goa during the last years of Portuguese colonial rule, the film tells the story of Raya, a fearless young man whose hunger for power drags him deep into a ruthless drug empire.

Haunted by a violent past and a family’s wounds that never healed, Raya finds work in the gang of the feared crime lord Salvador, slowly clawing his way up through smuggling routes, turf wars and shifting loyalties. By his side stands his sharp-minded elder sister Ganga, whose counsel steers his rise, while powerful figures like Elizabeth watch and shape the game from the shadows. In this world, trust is the rarest currency of all.

Raya’s climb brings him close to Salvador’s own family, and a dangerous romance with the boss’s daughter Rebecca begins to blur the line between ambition and betrayal. At the same time, his heart is pulled towards Nadia, a free-spirited circus performer who shows him a glimpse of life beyond guns and gold. Caught between love, loyalty and his own double game, Raya discovers that every step towards the throne demands a heavier price.

Mounted on a grand scale with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in pivotal roles, Toxic is a dark, stylish gangster saga about power, family and redemption. Geetu Mohandas directs with a painter’s eye, turning coastal Goa into a beautiful trap, and Yash commands the screen in a striking dual role spanning two generations — a fairy tale soaked in gunpowder, where happily-ever-after comes at a cost.
