Raja Shivaji tells the stirring story of a young Maratha warrior who dares to dream of swarajya at a time when powerful empires rule every fort and road around him. Raised on tales of courage by his mother Jijabai, Shivaji grows up watching his people suffer under foreign domination, and a quiet resolve takes shape in him to build a kingdom where dignity, faith and freedom belong to ordinary men and women.

As he gathers loyal companions and wins his first forts through strategy rather than sheer strength, Shivaji earns both devoted followers and dangerous enemies across the Deccan. Court intrigues, shifting alliances and mighty adversaries test his patience and judgement, while his bond with his family and his mavlas gives the campaign a deeply human heart. Every victory is hard won, and every setback teaches the young leader a sharper lesson.

The film builds towards larger confrontations as rival powers unite to crush the rising Maratha force before it can become a true kingdom in the Sahyadris. Shivaji must outthink generals far more experienced than him, protect vulnerable villages caught between armies, and decide how far a ruler can go without losing the values that made his people trust him with their lives and their future in the first place.

Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh, with Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Genelia D’Souza in powerful roles, Raja Shivaji is mounted on a grand scale with sweeping battle sequences, rich period detail and stirring music. It is an emotional tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, celebrating leadership born of sacrifice, intelligence and love for the motherland, made for audiences who admire history told with pride and heart for generations to come.
