Irumudi (2026) is a Telugu emotional drama that places a father’s love for his daughter at the centre of a story about faith, addiction and second chances. Ravi Teja plays Trinath, a man with a violent past and a serious drinking problem, who now lives a quiet life with his wife Kaveri and their little daughter in a village set near forests and waterfalls.

Trinath’s world revolves around his daughter, and it is her innocent wish that pushes him towards change. Hoping to reform, he takes the sacred Ayyappa Deeksha, a demanding 41-day vow of austerity and devotion symbolised by the irumudi he carries. For a while, discipline replaces the bottle, and the family begins to hope that their troubled days are finally behind them.

But peace does not last. A disturbing danger begins to shadow the young schoolgirls of the village, and Trinath soon finds the threat creeping closer to his own home. Torn between the calm his vow demands and the fury of his old self, he must decide how far a father will go to protect his child — and the children of his village.

Anchored by one of Ravi Teja’s most restrained performances and Priya Bhavani Shankar’s quiet strength, Irumudi blends tender family emotion with a socially relevant message about keeping children safe. It is a heartfelt drama about a broken man seeking redemption through faith and fatherhood, and about the promise every parent makes — that whatever happens, they will stand beside their child.
