Superman has been protecting Earth for three years, but his decision to stop a war between two nations brings him harsh criticism and makes the world question his intentions. Back in Metropolis, he works as reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet alongside the sharp and fearless Lois Lane, while trying to live up to the message his Kryptonian parents sent with him to Earth.

Billionaire Lex Luthor sees an opportunity in the public doubt and launches a ruthless campaign to destroy Superman’s image. He raids the Fortress of Solitude, twists a recovered Kryptonian message into a shocking revelation, and unleashes chaos on Metropolis, including a giant monster attack and a dangerous pocket universe where Superman is imprisoned along with other captives.

With help from Lois, the brilliant Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner and his loyal super-dog Krypto, Superman fights his way back. He discovers that the meaning of his parents’ message depends on the choices he makes, not on blood or destiny. His greatest strength turns out to be his humanity, his kindness and his refusal to give up on people even when they turn against him.

Directed by James Gunn, Superman is a bright, emotional and action-packed restart of the DC universe that focuses on hope instead of darkness. David Corenswet brings warmth and vulnerability to the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan shines as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult is chilling as Lex Luthor. Packed with spectacular battles and genuine heart, it is one of the biggest superhero films of 2025.
