Deva is an ageing former coolie who now runs a modest boarding house for working men in Visakhapatnam, living a quiet life far from his violent past. His peaceful routine shatters when he learns that his old friend Rajasekhar has died under suspicious circumstances, leaving behind questions that nobody is willing to answer and daughters who are suddenly in danger.
Deva’s search for the truth pulls him towards the port’s dark underworld, where a smuggling syndicate led by the ruthless Simon controls everything from gold to human lives. At the centre of the syndicate’s terror is a strange invention linked to Rajasekhar that is being misused to make bodies disappear without a trace, and Simon’s cold-blooded enforcer Dayalan makes sure no witness survives.
Realising that the police cannot be trusted and the enemy is too powerful for ordinary means, Deva is forced to become the man he used to be. He gathers his old strength, protects Rajasekhar’s family, and takes the fight directly into the syndicate’s territory, setting up a brutal clash between one ageing coolie and an empire built on fear and blood money.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is a high-voltage action thriller that presents Rajinikanth in a powerful, rugged avatar loaded with mass moments and emotional depth. Nagarjuna Akkineni is menacing as the villain, Soubin Shahir leaves a strong impact, and Aamir Khan’s cameo adds a surprise punch. With Anirudh’s electrifying music, Coolie is a full-scale entertainer for action lovers.
